Air intake filter on turbo?

Default Air intake filter on turbo?

I seen a truck on youtube that had the filter right on the turbo. Would that hurt anyting whats all the cons about that. Really there was no intake hose at all!

Heat is the biggest issue.

most do it with twins cuz they have no room 4 a tube

Thats how mine is setup. Some will probably say its not the best thing but it works in my situation.

kinda close to the manifold, i would worry about a paper element filter going up in flames,

It shouldn't get that hot it would burn the filter, but sure would be sucking alot of hot air, robbing power and increasing EGT.

Its a tradeoff between intake temp and airflow. A good cold air would be best, but over a stock filter it will probably be an improvement just because it's so much more airflow.

I dunno. The 2nd Gens did have the worst intakes. You'd have to measure something to know for sure, but I think I'd still rather have less cool air.

unless you had a good insulated heat shield
