Default New 6 speed

Im driving home from where Im working lately and go by a Dodge dealer and they have a fue cummins 2500's and 3500,s Iv checked out, crewcab 3500 loaded,2500 reg cab work trucks with a nice amount of options. The biggest diffrence I see is the 2500s say 6 speed auto $480 and the 3500 says 6 speed (6flp56) something like that $1585.They must be totaly diffrent transmitions,is the upgraded trans a must or spend a thousand dollars on something else.Im a chevy guy and am surprised how much I like the Ram,I once had a new 94 3500 cummins and transmition trouble sent me to Powerstrokes for many years and have recently gone GM and love it,but I love my wife too and still stray some on occasion.

It is the same transmission. On the 2500's the Hemi with the 5 speed Automatic is standard and the 6 Speed Automatic with the diesel is a $480 upgrade from that. On the 3500's the diesel with the 6 speed manual is standard. The 6 Speed Auto is a $1585 upgraded from that.
