Default need some advice

Hey everyone I am thinking about purchasing a 1994 ctd its from a local guy. He wants $3000 for it and it all stock except for the 4" exhaust. Its got 330k miles on it though. Is there any major things I should look at before buying? I'm 17 and have to find something cheaper to drive so I can afford to put some mods on it.

It sounds good its has some rust but it was his truck that he drove to work itd be a truck just for me to play with and learn more about them. It starts right up and I seen him drive it everyday this winter in iowa and never had a problem.

make sure the rust is only body panels and is confined to the lower parts, floor panels rusting out are hell.

Yeah its 4wd with an auto tranny that was rebuilt 20k ago. I'm pretty sure the rust is mostly on the box. The wheel bearings and ti rods and brakes rotors and calipers and stabilizer bar have been replaced too just recently.

are you going to be getting rid of your current truck? cause personally, i'd rather have that truck with the mods you have on it than the older truck

Yes I will be getting rid of it... I'm going to college next year and I can't afford the payment without being broke I just put about $2500 into it last week... Its just not worth it to me anymore seems like everytime I turn around it needs something else... But you gotta pay to play! I'd hate to see it go though.
