after doing some slight mods i had to take my truck out for a test drive... I hit 50 lbs of boost on my STOCK turbo with egts around 1300. I couldnt help it. Now my truck makes a strange noise while idling. Guess i learned my lesson... DONT MAKE POWER IF YOU CANT HANDLE POWER!!! anybody want a slightly used hx35 for cheap?

 

Makes a strange noise like the compressor wheel chewing up the inside of the housing? Been there and heard that noise.

A performance grind that's classic. You should have seen my face when I heard it for the second time in one day on 2 different turbos, all I could think was damn I'm glad I've sold this truck.

 

Yup did the same with my hx35, pushed 42 lbs out of it for months and one day it decided to go and there was the noise of the wheel chewing the housing!

i cracked my housing in five places. its inside and i cant get a good picture or else i would show it off. the truck didnt have gauges before i owned it.
