Default 2nd gear launch

I have 2wd, no traction at all, I need tires bad for the track. I read an article that in manual 2nd from a stop you get more traction. Anybody tried? It seemed like it grabbed more, my jump to 40 mph was quicker, to bad I did that after I left the track.

In order to start in 2nd you will need EFI Live. Manual mode will not start out it 2 if you select 2. It will only allow it to shift up to 2nd. Starting in 2nd has worked for some and not for others...it is hell on converters.
