Gonna do a little step by step on the partial restoration of my first truck. Here it is.

The door was damaged to the point of non usage, as well as some rust spots on the hood that need taking care of.

Removed all the lights/mirrors/bumpers, as well as stipped the old pinstripes off of it. Will post more up as I gain ground on the project.

Planning on going cheap with it and painting it solid silver, Any suggestions?

 

I'd keep it two-tone, it's not something you see very often. I've always liked the black with silver in the middle.

 

i see 2 tone everywhere here. and that truck isnt in need of a resto! just a door and fender. dam people and their no rust.

 

Heh. Its rustin up pretty bad since that fertilizer hose blew out and got all over it... And im gonna go with a single tone paint job since its cheaper. Since all I usually do with the truck is drive it in the pastures feeding cattle I really dont see the point of getting a nice paintjob.

 

tractor paint. 40 dollars a gallon, nice and durable. doesnt look to bad either if aplied right.

 

Thats true, seen several good looking trucks done up with the tractor paint.

 

Sounds pretty good. My buddy is a professional painter... But you cant get sparkly tractor paint can you... Metallic is the word right?

Nice truck! Looks like a nice southern truck with minimal rust. Should be nice to fix up!
