I have a garret gtp38r turbo i just put on my truck with stage 2 inj. And i have a cheap manual boost controller and i have it all the way shut and my boost guage is only saying 30lbs max. i want 37. Any ideas? I know the turbo can hold it

 

What happened to the factory wastegate control rod?

Wanting and having are two differant things, boost is not HP, what are your EGT's and how much smoke?

 

What about the waistgate rod? Its still there. I have black smoke when i get on it, and the egts are about 1100 witch isnt to to bad

 

You probably need to adjust the waste gate rod so it will stay closed longer.

egt probe is drilled into the exh.. manifold right at the motor. How do you adjust the waistgate rod, that makes sence it has threads on it. thank you

 

You say you have a boost controler here??? What is it? A Map blow off or a regulator? Ajusting that will NOT get you more boost...

Stock injectors thats good.

You have to remove the rod from the wastegate and shorten it. Having compressed air makes it easy to do.

The hardest part is not loosing the C clip that holds the rod to the wastegate.

 

Ijust tryed shorting it a bit i really had to pull on the rod but i still saw no more boost i saw 22-25. my goal is 37. Do i need to make it super short and use the compressed air to make it easyer to hook the rod?

 

If you can unhook and reconnect the rod without a pair of vice grips then its not tight enough. It should be a REAL pain in the butt to reconnect.

Again, your "goal" and what your injectors are capable of are two differant things, boost does not mean HP.

I can say for sure at 20psi I am making more HP then you are at 37... Get it tightened down a bit more!

 

mission complete the two orange boots on the bottom of the cold side of intake one was half off. but looked on. I got new boots and omg i love it!!! Thanks guys

 

run alot of nitrous it will def help the boost out,
