Default Fittin to replace both hubs any tricks or tips?

Its a 4x4 abs all around 8800gw. Can't tell if its a dana 60 or 44 but the guy at the parts store asked and i told it should be the bigger diameter axle. Was i mistaken?

to get the rotors and hub off take the wheel off... then turn the wheel as far to the left for the passenger side hub and go the 4 bolts holding the hub on it with a swivel joint and a 12 in extention and a half inch impact gun.... they're a 12 pt bolt so make you you get a 12pt socket.... depending on how bad the rust is you may have to heat up the bolt..... mine where a PITA and took right around a full day to do both sides.... i did rotors, hubs, and wheel bearings all at the same time so i didnt have to seperate the hub from the rotor.... but from just looking at it the only thing holding the 2 together is the lug studs go through both the hub and rotor if you know what i mean.... sooooo i would guess take an air chisel and hit the ends of the lug studs until the pop out the rotor side... the as for putting the lug studs back through the hub and rotor i would also use a chisel to hammer them home..... this is gonna take awhile so i would donate a day or so to it.... unless they arent rusty... then it wont be soo bad... hope this helps...

To answer your question on the axle size your front axle is a dana 60. As for changing the hubs I have never done one on the 4x4 front axles sorry.

make sure you get the abs/ non abs. abs ones have a ring on them also going 2 need 2 new cotter pins

Just did mine Friday, a bfh is your friend. I used a full can of PB blaster between the 2 sides to help loosen things up. I would change rotors at the same time if they are wore.

I've had to do this waaaaaay too many times. First, make sure you have the right hub puller. Then remove the wheels and calipers. Turn the wheel one way to remove the front 2 12pt hub bolts, then turn it the other way to remove the rear 2. A pipe on a breaker bar may be needed. Remove axle nut, then pull the hub. It's best to replace the rotor and hub at the same time. Saves work now, and grief later. If you don't have a press, then an air chisel works good for installing the studs. Most importantly, don't buy the cheap hubs!!!! Get the ones with the Timken or lifetime bearings!!! Some of them only last 30,000 miles.

Also make sure when you have it apart that you clean the mounting areas of all rust and use plenty of anti-sieze compound when you put it back together as it will help if it ever needs to come apart again.

To knock out the studs just get a 3pound hammer and hit the top of em once or twice they will pop right out. And yes you probaly arent suposed to re use the studs but i have never bought new studs and have never had a problem one. If you hit the stud flat with the hammer you wont mess up the end becausde the bolts arent threaded at the very end.
