Default Question on BC Emissions Regulations

Hey guys, I'm 90% sure I'll be moving to BC by the and of August this year. If I bring my truck with me will I have to get a Cat installed? Do they do regular emissions testing?

it depends on where in BC you are going, they have air care in the Lower Mainland but pretty much no where else.
i don't know much about it cause i don't have to deal with it in the Okanagan!

Ok thanks, that's good to know. I'll be moving to Kelowna to start off with, then we'll see where I'm at in 2011. I doubt I'll end up in the Vancouver area; if I do I'll have to sell my truck. It won't fit anywhere out there anyways. So I'm good without a Cat in the Okanagan? (It was not removed from my truck, my truck never came with on from the factory)

yeah i am in the Okanagan and we don't have any kind of aircare here, so you don't have to worry about your cat.
nice move by the way, there is no better place than Kelowna in the summer!!
when i was single my brother lived down there and i used to go down and spend the weekend down there all the time, great beaches and lots of good looking women!!

you won't have air care but you are going to have to have an MVI, which means your going to have to put the cat in place for the inspection otherwise they will not let you reg your truck here.

it's too close to home! When I decided to move away, I wanted far. And Edmonton's winters would break me . BC is so nice, I'd be out of my mind NOT to go haha.

It just means I'll have to laugh at you from farther away
