Howdy! i have a white 99 powerstroke crew cab long bed. I like the truck but my last truck was a real looker unlike this one. i'm already tired of all that gloss white that shows every dent and ding.

So here is my idea. the truck has 2 main bodylines; the lower bodyline which includes the wheel fenders and an upper body line right beneath the windows. the space between the two i want to keep gloss white however the top and the bottom areas in flat black with some detail work on the hood. complemented by a deep red pinstripe running the length of the top stripe.

AND HERES THE KICKER! i would like to rattle can it if i could as i don't have a HVLP gun nor a spray booth. what do you think?

 

Rattle canning takes talent, otherwise it won't look very good.

 

The paint idea sounds cool but spend the money and do it right... I wouldn't even spary paint my 95 with 251k let alone a 99

 

i have to agree if you dont get it done right with that paint scheme you wont like it im afraid

 

Even if it is just a flat black? the pinstripe is going to be done professionally.

 

The fan spray on a fart can is less than impressive,not consistent,the streaks will be like stripes across the body panels.

 

Flat black is thee hardest colors to paint. It'll show every dark light stripes uneven spots and that's using a professional spray gun let alone a spray bomb.
