Just did injectors and adjusted the valves. Everything was fine when it came outof the shop. Took a drive and blew the IC line off the drivers side. Stopped to hook it up and the motor sounded hot, like there was a coolant leak. Fixed IC and went looking for the leak, and found nothing. Started it up and looked again and heard this noise. You can not hear it in the cab once you raise the rpms. You really have to lissen to hear it before you raise them. I am trying to identify what is causeing the noise. It is definatlyu comming from the air intake horn.

tough to say on that since the sound is a little distorted. Did you take it back into the shop that worked on it and see what they have to say?

Bosch remans, I suspect a leaking fuel line. I originally tore it down for the same problem. After the #5 injector was replaced by a general repare shop I started making oil. I tore it down to find the issue, expecting it to be the return lines. I found the oring at the top of the #5 injector torn. I know the origional shop reused the fuel line washers when they were in there so still wanted to replace them. I had been running rich (by smell) for a week before the #5 failed. I was still running rich after it was replaced. I decided to just replace all 8 injectors since I was in there.

Good news it does not smell rich any more, and it runs like it did 300k ago. It has been about 200 miles since the injector change and as I was leaving to go out of town last night I checked the oil. About a qt over full so I left my baby at home and took the gas burnner, to bad it does not pull the trailer like the Max.

Every time I get fed up with the Max and threaton to trade it I have to pull something and I remember why I bought it.

a leaking fuel line can give you alot of problems, how are the balance rates on the injectors were you able to get them tested?
