I know very little about air intake, other than more and colder is better... I'm pretty handy with tools, etc... Is it possible to build a completly custom cold air box out of sheet metal or plastics? Would this fool with the MAF sensor, etc.? My idea was to build the box around the existing size filter and use (for ex.) K&N or such filter... Any ideas/comments? Any sites that would educate me?

 

if yur gonna build a box around the stock filter, you should just cut out the front section that sits behind the headight

 

Yeah, you had a post once about this i thought... How much can i cut safely or does it matter? Could i use a cylinder type filter with, say a 3 or 4 sided box, without messing with the MAF sensor?

 

the maf sensor is tuned for that size intake pipe, if you go bigger it will affect it and will be needed to be re-calibrated
