I was driving down the highway yesterday and when i attempted to pass somebody all i heard was a loud grinding noise in the engine nd my stacks started pouring out white smoke. and when i pulled over to stop it kept grinding and it sounded like it was grinding thru the exhaust....any idea's if its the turbo bearings or the whole turbo?

Interesting; last saturday my truck did the same thing. The impeller seized (lots of black smoke though not white). If you have white smoke it sounds like oil is getting all over. If your turbo was just dead it would be over fueling and making lots of BLACK smoke.

yours was making black smoke bc it seized and the engine wasnt getting air, he is losing a small amount on oil through his intake adn exaust
