Default Rolling Vengence

Here are some pics of an overkill mower that I helped to build 20 yrs ago. It has twin 6v53t's, one drives the tractor the other drives the 8ft mower. We built it to clear 1000 acres of oak brush in CO. It would chop up trees with trunks up to 6in. All that would be left was mulch The last two pics were of another version for play!

The second one we built for some dude in Louisiana to run the monster truck shows. The first one was sold to the Big Foot guy, its called Fastrax. Preaty wild to drive but more fun to build! The mower was crazy to run, the terrain was very hilly but thet thing could go ANYWHERE! What a dirty job though, I call it my character building job.

The beast started out life as a Korean war era personel carrier, we cut it down to relive it of all its armor then built it up from the track assembly. It has a "turning trans" that was controlled by levers originally, but we used air brake cans from a semi to work the levers so the hands were free to operate to hyd. levers controlling the deck and throtle.

Rolling Vengence is just what I need to mow my 15 acres. Red Alder & Blackberry sprouting up like weeds in between my rows of Doug. Fir trees. Well it might be overkill, I guess I'll just rent a kubota. Do you have any more photo's? That looks like it was an awsome project, how long to complete it?

It took about 3mo to complete. Here are more pics, one of the beginings, one of the hub for the mower deck we made from a solid chunk of steel. There was a large trash can of steel cuttings after it was finished! We also custom built a spindle for the deck after the sqhd truck rear end we used first failed. The deck was a direct drive with a driveline under the cab to a truck rear gear. The other pic is of the deck on its side, just finishing up the custom built blade, the flipper blades aren't on yet.
