Can anyone tell me where to find the casting number on the head of my old 12 valve? The truck is a 1996 automatic if that means anything. I have tried everything I can locally and even with the engine number nobody can tell me if they have a replacement casting. It seems that Cummins won't cross it for us because they don't want to help find a replacement if it doesn't come from them. Does this sound right? Do they suck that much?

 

inside the intake , on the back side of the intake, give me serial # and I can give you the numbers as well.

 

The serial number on my engine is: 56284006. Thanks for the help Cummins Guy! Now would I have to take off the intake cover to see this casting number?
