this could prove to be interesting.i hope they are beefing up the rest of the drive trian to keep up with the hp and tq increases. if everythings go good it should be a bad *** truck.

Wonder how long before th insurance companys put a halt to these HP/TQ wars like they do for muscle cars?

 

Exactly what I'm thinking... They're running Class 7 power numbers with a class 5 license requirement, and a heavy aftermarket performance industry ready to increase that even further...

 

where can i see these class levels? this interests me and i would like to look at it.

do they look at trucks different than cars since trucks are designed to work (haul and pull trailers) and cars are designed to carry passengers and not haul and pull heavy loads? meaning trucks have a higher hp/tq need. i hope this makes sense to someone.

 

Classes are broken into GVW's, you know that, but the corresponding power levels for these trucks generally falls into a certain range. 400hp/700tq stock is definitely far more than adequate for a class 5 truck considering 15 years ago the same truck was getting by with like 60% of that, 10 years ago 75%...GVW has stayed more or less the same though during that time.
