What are you going to use it for? Towing, racing, pulling or a mixture of all of them?

Theres no best - the parts are pretty much the same. The question is - how big is your wallet?

I think a better way to phrase the question is who makes the best trans for the lowest cost... Or what is the best value?

HTS and Goerend are both top notch. Or, you can come on up to Sacramento and we can build you one. . . . . . .

I agree, since you are in Cali a call to Jason should answer all your questions.

If you have one built it is a lot less expensive than buying a complete trans. The things I would suggest you get are a billet flexplat, billet triple disk TC, billet input shaft, HD valve body and a double deep pan. Since you already have it out go ahead and do HD clutches. If you are going to do sled pulls I would suggest a billet output shaft. I did my upgrade will all BD parts for $6500 (labor included) without the billet output shaft (I don't do sleds). To buy a trans with all the upgrades I have they wanted $5500 plus a core charge, then I would still have to pull or pay to pull my old trans and pay to ship it back to get my core charge. Also my trans is built for towing.
