I've had mine in two places. It started out here on the floor

Then I cut the dash a little and stuck it in here

Not the best pic cause the shifter is in the way but you get the idea. Thats actually my old radio, now I have a cobra 29 bluetooth.

I have thought about mounting one under my cup holder the folds down. It would be pretty slick if the cables that hang the cupholder would support the extra weight.

Have mine on a hump mount after market rig and plug into the lighter. Pull the plug and disconnect the coax and out it comes. Still have to set up the co phase antenna system.

I installed my like Bosshogg's first picture. I took a piece of 1x4 cut it down to 6". I took off the front of the the center cushion put the 1x4 under the front of the center seat cover then mounted my CB bracket to the board through the seat cover.

That's a pretty slick idea putting the board in the seat. Mine was actually mounted to the floor though.

I made two brackets and mounted it beside the 4 wheel drive shifter.

I run A VHF Icom. And I mounted it on the side of the transmission riser on the floor so it is vertical below my right leg. It is nice there as it is always in the shade and you can see the screen without the glare you get from A high mount. Handy for me cause I have to change channels often. And it is easy to hide cables from there. And only holes are through the floor. So can be removed with little visible damage. Good luck with your mount.

Rhino.
