Default just like a new truck

I moved the stock fuel plate FF, AFC FF, turned the Star Wheel 2.5 revolutions toward the engine. I found a post about sloppy steering so I adjusted my steering box.
The old girl has new life!! It would never spin the wheels before and now she spins em easy with little smoke. She is very responsive and the steering is tight like when she was new. Next I will get guages and I think I will get the 100 plate a boost elbow and a cold air intake. I am looking forward to hauling my trailer and seeing how she does there.. THat should be all the power I 'll need!!
Thanks for all the tips....
Sounds like KDP would be a good idea too..

Be easy on it. Even with a stock fuel plate FF it can get it pretty hot

Now, install some Governor springs.

Dr. Evil. It looks as though yopu are local. Who would you recommend for the the 100 fuel plate, cold air intake , boost elbow and the guages that I need?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

What will Governor springs do? Make it rev higher? It used to have a power band from 1500 - 2300RPM or there about. Now she takes off at 1300 or less and pulls hard right till2700RPM. I can`t believe I`ve driven this truck the way it was for 12 years.

I got my 100 from ebay - they are around $40 now I think. Their boost elbow that came with it wasnt the right thread so I had to buy one - no biggie. If youre in Canada and want to buy Canadian, I would recommend Peak Diesel Performance in Vancouver. Talk to Harry there -

Peak Diesel Performance home, 877-858-7325 Committed to providing you with excellence in product knowledge, customer service, and technical help. They have good prices for Canada and wont hose you like some of the other schiesters up here. I havne a number of buddies that have gotten parts from Peak and they are all very happy.

If youre interested in a 4 or 5" exhaust one of our sponsors ships direct from the factory in Canada, so you dont get nailed with that ugly UPS brokerage fee at the border. Let me know and Ill pass the name on to you.

Yes, the GSK gives you more RPM before it defuels. You can go with a 3K or a 4K Governor spring kit but the 4K springs require 60 pound valve springs.

I need to do something with my truck performancewise because its pretty tame - but its a daily driver and I have a hard enough time keeping the thing on the road in the wintertime.

Oh, another reason to take it easy, is that a clutch upgrade will be in your near future unless you baby it.

Do the KDP! you will possibly regret it if you dont. Govenor springs will allow your truck to fuel at higher rpm's, you pull to 2700 now, but with 3k springs it will fuel up to around 3000 rpm and with 4k fuel to around 4000 rpm's, they are a great upgrade for these trucks.

The KDP is an absolute MUST. Search youtube and you will find some videos (5 or 6 parts) of what can be involved if you dont fix your KDP.
