Well I've been eying the 700 lb cart for a while.

Its been advertised at $179.99 for a few months and almost any magazine you look in has a 20% off coupon in it. I've been calling and stopping by the local store but they NEVER have them. Well this months play boy had an ad for the 580 lb cart for $99.99 and a 20% coupon so I called up and they had some. I figured why not.

This thing is surprisingly nice for the $80 I payed for it. Drawers roll nice, Easy to assemble, very sturdy. I still want the 700 lb one for all the extra space but I'm thinking of building a wider sub-frame for this one and putting some 10" pneumatic casters on it so I can roll it across the yard easy to the driveway with out tipping over. The key works smooth for now and with the lid closed all the front drawers are locked so they don't slide open while moving it around. The caster roll VERY smooth even loaded down with tools. I don't have the full 500 lbs its rated for in it but I bet I have a good 250 lbs in. I rolled it across my back yard and it was alot more stable then I thought it would be. Anyway here it is...






I'm almost thinking of picking up another one of these as well as the 700 lb one...

 

That thing looks like it would hold all I need it to. And for 80bux? what the hell. Thanks for posting this. Gonna swing by HF tomm.

 

I will be buying one of these or possibly the 700 pound red one next time Im down south. The thing I like about the black one is that it isnt quite so deep on top. Ive looked at these a couple of times and while its not Snapon or Mac there sure isnt anything wrong with them.

 

You will find that the low end snap-on and macs (like teh $300 ones) are the exact same and made buy the same company... I didn't tell you that though.

All Snap-on and macs top line carts are made by them but the low end ones are not.

 

Interesting....where can I get some Snapon or Mac stickers?

Got this thing LOADED! Rolls great, drawers still move smooth, still nice and sturdy!

 

Cool deal, I'll have to find one of those...been needing to buy one since my metal working hand tool purchases seem to get more & more frequent and my toolbox probably weighs 4000lbs right now. Poor thing.

I can say it... Worked for Snappy for a couple years. The big HF box is identical to the Blue Point box that Snappy sells. They are nice! Especially for that price. Will replace a regular tool box for a lot of guys (who haven't ran a tool truck for years, that is... ).

The Snap On branded boxes are made in-house and are better in a few subtle ways. Not enough better to make it worth the price difference IMO, but some guys want the best and are willing to pay for it. I'd rather stick my money into actual tools than storage, but if I had to roll a box around a lot every day or make my living out of it, I'd get the Snappy version and pay the money. If it mainly stands in one place and just holds tools, get storage for cheap.
