Default hush mat

I am thinking about putting in a new carpet in my truck this spring and would like to put in some hush mat or something to deaden the engine noise a little --just wondering what others have used and where you found sources for hush mats or possible other products that might work.

Thanks-- I have thought about doing that also---was wondering if it made much of a difference or not-- I am sure it would be alot cheaper than a mat.

we have a big roll of knock off dynamat in the back at crapa, might look for something like that. its a 5' roll sold by the foot, a lot cheaper.

i have done that as well, i was not very happy with it with my strait piped cummins. i did that first didnt like it, tore it back apart and covered it in dynamat extreme, and it was literally half the volume after that. i just did the floor too. im going to go back and do the roof, doors and sides of the cab and im hopin itll make it super quiet then

also, dynamat extreme bulk pack (36 sq ft) can be found on ebay for like 100 bucks too. like 75% off what itll cost you at the store

I used Dynamat in my mustang. It had a 408 stroker, long tube headers straight piped. Inside, sounded like an aftermarket exhaust. outside sounded like NASCAR. I won't use anything other than dynamat. It's expensive, but worth it. If you're on a budget, do the floors first, starting at the firewall and going back.

by the way, I had the entire inside of the car covered with the stuff. cost me a couple of hundred bucks, daily driver though
