Default German tools and socket storage?

Has anybody heard or worked with german brand tools like HAZET, Gedore, Stahlwille?
If so let me hear your thoughts about them.
I only know Snap-on, Kobalt and Craftsman( Snap-on extremely expensive and craftsman shouldn't be in the same line like Snap-on)
Any recommandations?

Does anyone know a good tool storage system for sockets. Believe it or not- we don't have something like that beside the original storage boxes they are sold with in Germany.
If you accumulate some sockets, you are in deep trouble to sort them out.
It goes on my nerves not being able to store metric and SAE, 6 point and 12 points sockets, standard and deep sockets neatly in their drawers.
I also have all sizes of 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2.
I count about 250 different sockets + allen and special drivers and there is no end in sight.
Maybe someone can give me a hint, or show me a picture where to look for those organizers?

Not that I like the idea cause I refuse to buy Craftsman anymore but in this case the socket rails they sell are the same ones as Snap on sells but Sears sell them much cheaper.

Craftsman used to be good, but since the sell out to Kmart the only thing I buy there anymore is the tools that I plan on trashing so I can get the replacements when I do.

What a shame about Craftsman. I always found it interesting that Craftsman tools in the US have always been way different than Craftsman Canada. Its always been junk up here.

Ebay is a good source for socket holders and there are quite a few options.

Heres the traditional kind - they work ok and are pretty flexible as you can cut the rails and drill extra holes as you see fit, and rivet them into your tool chest. Be aware that quality varies a lot with these. : http://cgi.ebay.com/15-pc-Socket-Rac...item439d687b90

Much the same but mounted on a piece of steel: http://cgi.ebay.com/120pc-SOCKET-TRA...item3a57c58b3f

Heres some similar but updated ones - probably better but not so easy to cut and modify:

And these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ernst...motiveQ5fTools

Hold downs for the above:

Similar but still different:

Now theres also other styles.

The Hanson type - these are good but they dont hold really big sockets. I think it just goes up to 27mm and 1 1/4":

Thats what I'm talking about!

They would charge me for a single holding rail 33,75€, thats 48,75 $ US over here.

I don't like to pay someones else vacation...
Dr.- your prescription does work, and it's worth it's money!

OK, those are stupid prices.

Which ones are you looking at Stinker?

The Hanson ones are about $20 (Canadian) each over here. I could probably help you out. Let me know and we can probably work something out.

As a Snap On dealer for some time, I've seen or used just about every sort of socket rail under the sun.

I like (and use myself) these best of every other one.

The sockets go on with a twist (ball bearing rides in hole or groove) - pull right off once twisted 90* or stay on, even if upside down once locked. One hand operation. Magnetic back so they stay stuck on a fender, in the box, etc.

A bit spendy... I've probably got more money invested in socket rails than the average guy has in his tool set, but if you want the best!

Here's one on eBay. Snappy also sells these in their RWD4U catalog. eBay is cheaper if shipping doesn't get stupid like it sometimes does.

MTS 13 Piece 1/4" Lock-A-Socket Holder w/Magnetic Back : eBay Motors (item 120406708413 end time Apr-10-10 00:17:04 PDT)

BTW, ditto on Crapsman tools. Harbor Freight is better and less money. Everyone has a lifetime warranty on hand tools, so that isn't a good reason to buy from Sears, and there are probably more Snap On trucks floating around than there are Sears stores. Until you've tried the best you won't know the difference, but once you do, you'll never go back. (And, no, I'm no longer a dealer, but I still buy and use Snap On -- the tools I first bought 35 years ago when I was 14 are still in service!)

Thats exactly what they sell with a different colour ( light blue) and a different brand name for the price mentioned above.

I'm getting mad about it.
