Default 1988 F-250 2WD would get stuck in a parking lot!

.....and it has! On snow and ice, of course, but, DAMN! I'm running tires with decent tread. WTF is up with this truck getting stuck all the time? Anything I can do about it?

How big of tires you running? Bigger tires aren't always better in snow and ice. Do you have any weight in the back? Try adding some weight in the back

get a 4x4 it works wonders. but like jazz said weight in the rear is key for 2wds in snow and ice. and try gettin going slow dont just slam the gas and cause you to burn out

don't slow down once you get going, don't start fast, and roll though stop signs and such, just keep an eye open for the fuzz........

Yeah, I actually wish this truck didn't want to take off so hard in first gear, LOL; kinda wants to spin on ice.

if its a standered, don't use first if it is and auto, you could try and put it in 2nd with the shifter and see if you can get it to skip first. my chevy is an auto and sometimes i can get it to stay out of first by not slowing down to a stop. i don't know if that works for every situation. but so far so good for me

I've had good luck leaving the throttle alone till it's rolling, but you know...to each his own.
I'd put some weight in the back, that diesel is heavy, and unlike the newer trucks the rear of yours is pretty light.

That's pretty much what I do, but it don't always work. Was wondering more about mods than technique. Hopefully the new shocks will help if we get any more snow this year.
