Post Hello From Germany

Hi folks ... after having completed my registration and fiddling around a bit with my profile, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself to you guys a wee bit.

As the title of this thread suggest already I am living in Germany; to be a bit more precise (and for those of you who have been over to Germany), I am living in my house in Bavaria (Southern Germany), quite close to Landshut, which is east of Munich.

I am married to a wonderful woman and have a daughter of 8 years old. I have four cats and a hunting dog.

My ride is a ยด94 Dodge Ram Pickup (check my signature for specs), which is the main reason for having enrolled to this forum. Running a rig like this in Germany is quite challenging sometimes, especially when it comes to tech support or to dealing with the limited space over here (some of you might know what I mean), let alone being confronted with the lack of technical knowledge regarding the Cummins Turbodiesel, in particular, and diesel engine upgrade/tuning.

I am a member and moderator of the German US-Car-Forum, which is a platform for thousands of Germans, who own US-Cars, and I am a member to various other forums dealing either with US-cars in general, Dodge cars & trucks, or (Cummins-)Diesel technology in particular.

Did I forget anything you are still curious to know about me? - Well.. drop me a line then.

Tom

Hey Bud, glad to see ya made it in here. I can't imagine what fuel must cost on the local economy over there. And ya, I would imagine that a traffic system designed around compacts would be a nightmare in these monsters. Makes it all that much more special though. You tryin to get our cars and trucks over there and were want your cars and trucks here. It's a mixed up world we live in.

Very true though ... it is kind of weird ... just imagine that you get screwed by the officials already when registering a Dodge truck here just because the Ram is not an official import!!!

Funny though... a Ram in OK or TX is just another truck - over here it is a head-turner.... Ok, ok, to be honest, my ยด94 does not really sound like a diesel anymore ...

The price for diesel fuel over here is currently at EUR 1.15 per liter, which equals to $ 5.78 per gallon!!!!

You gotta be an honest person though, be hard for you to hide in a land of compacts. You do somthing wrong everybody in the country is gonna know who did it.
So are you a transplanted American or a German with a desire to make life hard on yourself.

I just noticed that I did not post any pics of my truck yet.

So here we are... you will find all the pics of my ride at: http://s60.photobucket.com/albums/h3...20Ram%20Truck/

There are also many pics taken at US-car-meetings in Germany... for those of you interested:
