Try charcoal lighter fluid works great on brake dust sticky sticker stuff and soot it is a low petrolum product.I personally have not had a problem with a little bit on a rag.Or i have used natha which is a very low grade paint thinner i used on debaging my truck to take the sticky stuff off.If i remember it runs about 20 bucks for a half gallon aviable at paint stroes.Autozone and them don't carry.

also, if its not coming off grab Meguiars Clay bar kit and clay bar the effected area, heck, do the whole truck, but do sooty part last, youll have to reapply wax afterwards, as clay removes everything from the paint, including wax/polish, so youll have ONLY clean base/clear and no protection.
