Default 99-02 cab lights vs 03-08 cab lights

hey guys, im lookin at gettin some aftermarket smoked cab lights for my truck through Pacer performance, the 99-02 (last 2nd gen) style is only avail with incandescent bulbs, but the 03-08 style is avail. with an LED light.

My question, is for those of you who have factory cab lights on both, whats the diff in length, width and height between 99-02 and 03-08 cab lights.

My buddy says the 3rd gen cab lights are longer and thinner then late 2nd gen lights, so if i could get measurements from you guys who have them factory, thatd be AWESOME.

Again, the measurements im looking for are these
  • Overall length (front to back) of cab light
  • Width at widest part of cab light
  • Overall Height from roof of cab to tallest point on cab light

Please post these measurements for me on both late (99-02) 2nd gen trucks as well as 3rd gen (03-08) trucks.

Pics also welcome so i can see the differences by eye

Much appreciated guys!!!!!!

Late 2nd. gen. cab lighs have the screw holes on the sides, and 3rd. gen. style cab lights have the screw holes in the front and back. So unless you want to drill more holes in your roof running 3rd. gen. style lights is out. You can however get 194 style LED's from Recon.

Well I've got 3rd gen style lights on my '01. Only probelm is that towards the center of the cab they wouldn't countour to the cab too well so there's one or two that has a small gap between the cab and the rubber gasket that goes around the bottom of the light. I used painter's tape and put it on the light housing and then on the cab and caulked around the gap. Then when you pull the tape off there's a real clean line and you can't even tell. I've been in some real down pours here and it hadn't leaked at all.
