I bought a daimond plate tool box yesterday and i was wondering how to tell if it has a clear coat on it or not? its not shiny anymore so I am wanting to make it look good again. I tried some spay that i used on the aluminum wheels on my old truck that worked pretty good on the wheels but it didn't do a thing to the toolbox. Its a Tractor Supply Company box if that helps. any thoughts? thanks.

 

most likely its got some clear coat on it.

I've never seen clear coat on a toolbox, not even the white/black steel one. I would just polish it with some aluminum polish and be done with it.

 

hmm, i was told mine had clear coat on it. of course it was used when i go tit so idk for sure

 

I've had delta, john deere, better built, weather guard and my current, dee-zee, and I've never seen them clear coated.
