Default COLD START

Is it typical for an 85 6.9L to have a real hard time starting in the cold? Even at 45 degrees my truck wouldn't start without plugging the block heater in. Maybe this is a typical problem for those old Navistar Diesel's. Another thing, if I were to replace the glow plugs, which ones are the best to get?

ok, if ur glowplugs dont work, well then yes it will be hard to start below 45.

get motorcraft(beur) or the navistar(international) plugs.

Another thing is too be sure that you are getting power to your plugs before you replace them, if you are then definantly go with the international or motorcraft plugs.
