Default Nozzle MPG's?

I'm thinking of getting some new injector nozzles for my '03. Nothing major... something in the 50hp range. Any of you guys that have changed out your nozzles, what did your MPG's do, both unloaded and towing? I know big nozzles/injectors can kill MPG's, especially while towing, but the manufacturers (and our vendors) claim a MPG increase with the smaller nozzles. Is this true, or are they blowing smoke?

You will see at least 1-2 mpg increase up to 100hp nozzles. You will even see a bigger increase if you have a chip or something. I have 60hp injectors in my truck and I get at least 22mpg hwy but only if I drive like a granny which isnt most of the time and I have 4:10 gears.

What happens when you throw a 10,000 lb trailer on there? Is there still a MPG gain?

Depends... Some people when they tow 10k they get 13-15mpg and then some will put bigger nozzles in and get a 2mpg increase and some wont. It depends on how you drive, but with bigger injectors you will have more power to tow and when crusing on flat roads with 10k you will see some kind of increase. It all depends on how you drive. You usally have to wait a week to see any kind of improvent because you will be blowing black smoke for a good week until your excitement wares off.

OK. I was just wondering. Buddy of mine had an '03 that he bought with aftermarket injectors. Don't know anything about them, but considering the power and the smoke, they at least measured large x huge. Unloaded, his truck didn't do bad at all with the MPG's, but put a decent trailer behind it and he was lucky to see 6-7 mpg!

If your looking for mileage and driveability keep the size around 50-60 HP advertised increase. The 90's are a little hot towing and can cause your fuel delivery system to over pressure things trying to keep up without modding it also.

That's the idea. One of the vendors here has a set of nozzles that they rate at 60hp... up to 90hp on modded trucks. I figured since I have a relatively aggressive module and slightly-larger-than-stock turbo, they could be closer to the 90hp rating... depending on the Edge setting.
