Just a quick question to the pros in here on the new Cummins 6.7L engine oil.

Can anyone tell me the specs and brand(s) of engine oil certified for the 6.7 Cummins engine?

Reason for asking: My good friend Chris owns the very first 6.7L 3500 Dually in Germany and, perhaps, throughout all Europe.

However, when the first oil change was due he asked the importer of the truck for information on the engine oil. Instead of getting a proper answer he was given 20 liters of oil in a neutral canister along with the (nasty) statement that this was the one and only oil certified for this engine, and that they were an exclusive dealership for this oil!! - hard to believe, right?

My investigations within the internet and, also using the search function in here were without any result. - Maybe one of you could help out here.

Good question, I think they might be required to use the low ash oil but not for certain. Someone will be along soon that knows a little more.

 

I didn't find much on first pass either. All I know is it's CJ-4 rated. As far as which brands are certified, maybe that's a pretty small list yet? Being in Europe may be another factor. There has to be a certified list somewhere. I'll keep digging.
