tank selector switch

Default tank selector switch

i have two tanks in my truck and i am havineg a problem changing from the front to the back. i run on the front and everything is fine then i switch to the back tank and it don't switch to the back plus the gas guage goes all the way past full. any suggestions? thanks tim.

them tank switches on any vehicle can be a pain my only suggestion would be to look at fuse if it has one ,check the wires at the switch itself and if you think everything looks good time to change it out

well i changed the cab on the truck and before i changed it the seitch was ok but now it's broke. hmmm?

Did you swap the dash and such as well, or are you using the controls that were in the new cab? You might try swapping the switchs to see if it helps.

ya i switched the switches i'm wondering if i didne't mess up any wireing

I have an 88 f250 that had the same problem. It turned out to be the selector valve between the tanks. I found out the hard way that it didn't work and ran out of fuel 20 miles from no where.
