Crazy idea or not?
I wish my Dodge had the HVAC controls that my Chevy does, so I thought why not just put them in? Physically it looks pretty simple, and both panels have all the same functions, just have to figure out the wiring right? Any ideas on potential snags here? I'm going to start hunting for a panel from a Chevy.
If they're databus'd multi-linked computerized widgets I would sure doubt that they'd work without a lot of work...
I'd be inclined to rig up something with an electric actuator on the blend door controlled with an off-the-shelf digitial thermostat or temperature controller.

That would be very easy to wire for me, but it wouldn't look right in a nice truck.
There are lots of panel-mount temperature controllers available off eBay, McMaster-Carr, DigiKey, et cetera.
I have two in my truck. I think they're closer to the "slick custom electronic" look than the "jury-rigged Obamalectric" look.

(My old dash.)
