i have a 89 f350 that i traded for the truck has set for at least 5 yrs.. so the guy said i got it from he couldnt get it to start when he went and got it. so he wired around the gp relay and put a push button switch on it .so i want to hook it back up and work it off the key. and also when turning it over sometimes the starter stick and you have to pull the batteries loose and the starter is new. any pics or good desciptions would help alot. sorry im not a full blooded diesel guy this is my first.

 

welcome to diesel bombers good site does your key switch feel like its not working as in hard to turn it over. issues could be bad starter or not getting enough voltage check and see if one of your batteries is bad

 

got every thing hooked up went to a buddys old work truck and wired it like his. but still having issues replaced the glow plugs and the relay looking thing but wait to start light comes on for about a second or two and goes right back out. no clicking or anything i checked the glow plugs and got about .3 ohms on all of them. i didnt replace the black box under the relay i know i have 12 volts on the battery side and the ign. wire post as well as the white wire post but nothing on the opposite big post the glow plugs are hooked to. could it be in the ignition switch or one of the solenoids. any thing is better than i have so shoot those ideas out here.
