Default Exhaust Systems

Ive got the cummins 600 witch came with the 4in exhaust would it be better to just remove a couple items or go to a dual exhaust? Also would a dual exhuast make a perfomance difference on cummins being that its a inline 6...

dummy duals like the ones run on most diesel exhaust systems r just for looks the only way i can see dual exhaust helping would be on a v style motor and it would have to be a true dual setup

To be honest a dual set up on a cummins is for looks only cause you have one exhaust manifold not two compared to the DMax and Powerstoke. All the guys on this site are full of information and there are many threads on this subject. A 4 or 5 inch exhaust is the way that I would go if your wallet can take it. Cutting out the cat and putting in a high flow muffler will give you better exhaust flow, but you are still working with the stock pipe that is not mandrel bent and is still restrictive. Everyone that I have talked to has told me that there is not power loss when going to 5 inch exhaust you only gain a deeper sounding exhaust note. Check out the vendors on this site, I know that Luke at diesel dawgs has an awesome system without breaking the bank. Hope this helps you out.

Go with a budget 5" kit or either straight pipe your existing exhaust. If your concerned with with being too loud as stated above get a high flow muffler. After you hear the sound of a 5" you wont go back

I just straight piped mine. It was cheap, and it sounds great!

I just put the 5" expandit system on from luke at diesel dawgs and love it. great tone and not in cab drone under 2000 rpm. Great price and very easy to install. just make sure you have a sawzall and some fresh metal blades to cut out the old stocker...you will never put it back on after you hear this thing...

Also wanted to thank you for serving since you doing your thing allows my family to live in peace and freedom. thanks brother!
