whats the correct leveling kit size. ive seen 1" 2" 2.5" kits and also 3"-6" spacers.

does a 3" spacer kit make the front sit noticeably higher than a 2.5"

I put 2" spacers in the front of my 01 ram 2500 and it definetly sits noticably higher but it's still not completly "level"

 

Your front coil springs may be saggin some over the years. This height difference is from the factory.

 

If you install levelling spacers you should also consider pushing the lower control arm eccentric bushings forward, adding an adjustable track bar to center the axle and drop blocks for the sway bar, in order to maintain the stock geometry as much as possible. three or more inches of spacer would also call for a drop pitman. Ideally, longer control arms and shocks would also be added for as little as 2" lift.

This is just a matter of doing it right. Many have installed just spacers and called good, running for thousands of miles with no problems. But doing that will however induce some handling and accelerated wear issues, normally resulting in early onset of death wobble. Spacers alone = DW starter kit.

 

I hated them spacers myself. Threw them out and bought the new soft ride coil springs and just rebuilt the whole front end while I was at it since it was all needing to be done anyway.

 

That would be attributed to the "accelerated wear" issue I mentioned. Probably wore out the ball joints in half the time it would have taken otherwise. I hope my shocks and springs wear down quick now anyway, so I can replace them with proper 2" lift springs and the longer Bilstein shocks. Maybe go with a full kit front and rear from Kore, Carli, Lorenz, etc...
