The truck will till you when the oil change is required. If you have not removed the emission equipment yet this will happen between 3000 and 5000 miles or sooner. With the emission equipment removed this can be at 5000 miles.

I do not pay any attention to the over head oil change message. When it shows, I cancel it. For what it's worth, the only thing that I followed on the breakin was the towing restriction. Dodge did not want me towing for 1,000 kms but it was about 3,000 before I hooked up. I did the first service at 5,000 kms. This included an oil change to synthetic, oil filter change, fuel filter change and a chassis lube. At 10,000 kms I again did a service (oil, oil filter, fuel filter and chassis lube) plus I changed the diff fluid, transfer case and transmission fluid ans filters. From that point on the truck has been on a 10,000 km service schedule with the transmission, transfer case and diffs being changed each spring and fall. I am running an aFe drop in air filter which is checked at every service and usually cleaned at 20,000 kms. I am using Mobil Delvac 1 5W-40 oil, Fleetguard filters, Mopar fluid and filters in the transmission and transfer case and synthetic 75w-90 in the diffs. My truck has 80,000+ kms on it. It will be 2 years old in January.
It should be noted that oil and filter brand usage is a personal thing. I may very well switch to Amsoil because of availability issues. As long as you use the correct CJ-4 rated oil, it does not matter what brand as long as you keep it clean. JMHO.
