Default air dog quits....turn off key and back on it will come back on?...

I have several times had my motor die on me while idling. Each time I can hear the air dog pump is not running. It has always happened while idling and in park. It always will start again [ both the pump and the motor ] sometimes the pump does not come on when I turn on the ignition right away. If I turn the key off and on it eventually runs and then I can start the truck and it runs as normal.

Anyone familiar with this?... I changed from a 2 micron filter to a 10 a couple days ago and it quit on me again today....

any suggestions?...

try moving your power line to airdog to a keyed on source, this isnt the first time ive heard of a airdog quitting while the truck is running !

last night I pulled off the water separator and checked it out...seems fine

also took the cover off the pump and checked the gear rotor...seems fine too

I plan to move wiring from battery to another source and see if anything changes...

Any other suggestions?...

Oh yeah, made me think I need to carry a spare fuse, if that thing should blow I'm stranded

ran a new power supply from the battery, omitting ECM, via a toggle switch in the cab....It did quit once on me while driving ): weird
has been fine since. And I'm beginning to suspect relay could be the problem. not sure yet

Sounds like the relay. Double check for bare wires that might trip the relay.

Truck has been running fine, don't know for sure why....
It did quit once after I moves the supply wire to a new source other then ECM
That is what makes no sense. The only issue remains is the air dog motor makes a sort've slight rumbling noise off and on. Not constant, just comes and goes irregularly. I can only guess the brushes or a bearring could be going....
