96 powerstroke fuel issue
I have a 96 7.3 and since ive owned it its had a bit of a rough idle when cold and a fuel leak from the top of the engine, ive been informed of all the common issues faced with the 96 engine and have already replaced all glowplugs, o-rings, top end hoses, and under cover harnesses, yet i still have a undetecable fuel leak and one hell of a bounce during startups.... someone give me some clues
p.s.
already inspeced the fuel filter housing for damages.

the bounce at start up could be a stick ipr,or the hpop res. is low on fluid. if thats the case something is bleeding off some where. as for the fuel leak. hmm. idk. might pm CSIPSD. he has more luck with the obs, trucks than i do.
i understand some of the things u wrote but unclear about "stick ipr" and also i dont think my engine has a seperate hpop res. for oil, could swear it ran off the main oil pump and sump, could be wrong, and if so how and where do i refill it
Edit:
i figured out what the ipr was and according to all the possible problems listed by techs of all ages, the ipr would cause warm run issues and would throw a code, i have had no codes so for over the past six months.
anybody else got more ideas??

another update:
checked hpop res. after sitting a few hours, no drain down, only way i can get the truck to start and idle properly after a few hours sittin so far is to leave it plugged in, and the weather is supposed to not be a factor til below 32f and yet the coldest its gotten here this season is about 37f.

Someone please help.... leak still undetected

The fuel pump can leak and is hard to see. It will come out the little hole on the bottom.
Very common problem. Also another common problem is were the harness plugs in at the valve cover. The connectors get burnt and you get a bad connection or in most cases no connection, there is also terminals in that same plug for the injectors that can be affected. It is easy to check in any case. If you should need to fix the plugs your International Dealer is the best place to go,they have a kit with everything you would need. The Ford Dealer didn't know what I was talking about when I went there, thus International.
