Default Next Truck Opinions

Ok fellas what do you guys think I should do? I for one am torn. I am thinking about buying another truck after I get my first one all squared away. I like the Dodges and have even thought about collecting the 1st gen 12v all the way through the 3rd gen 6.7l CR but im not sure yet. So here is what im looking at.

89-93: Would buy one to restore and have as a collectors truck type thing. Maybe further down the road.

94-98.5: I love the 12v and would love to have one. They are cheaper than the other models and are mechanical which I like. I would buy one in a heartbeat if I found one with a great body and lots of miles so I could rebuild the engine.

98.5-02: I really like the 2nd gen 24v but the fuel pump issue bothers me even though I know how it can be fixed so im not worried about it. I also hear they can only produce so much HP compared to a 12v and the 3rd gen 24v, is that true?

03-07: I already own a CR but would there be an advantage over the other models to get one with an automatic transmission? With a tranny and a smarty its already pushing a lot of HP but they are also expensive to build because they are slightly newer (of course all of them are expensive either way ).

07-Current: Now I hear the 6.7l Cummins runs like a beast and I would just do the DPF and EGR delete and be done with it. Although I like the tried and true 5.9. I don't have much experience or info on these so Im not sure. I like the new Bosch injectors though although I don't know what that has to do with buying a new truck .

Ford with a Cummins swap: This is the option I am looking at the most. I know conversions are expensive but you cant beat a Ford body powered by a Cummins. I would really like to take an 08 or newer ford and put a 5.9 in it but I am also thinking about putting a 6.7 in it without the EGR and DPF. I will probably end up putting a 5.9 in a 2004-2007 Ford F-250 (Don't need a 3500 or 350). This idea I love the most but finding a Ford body thats still in good condition without an engine or a dusted engine seems a little difficult to me but would be worth it.

What do you guys think I should do? Thanks in advance!

I really want to but I dont have that kind of money yet and I need to choose one for right now. I really am leaning towards the ford with the cummins in it.

Bump

I have settled on a ford with a cummins in it. Now I just need help deciding which body style to get. I am looking into the 6.0l 2004-2007 body style. Any particulars I should know about any of those years? Should I keep the Ford transmission or should I get a doner truck to get a different transmission? I want an automatic in this one. I am asking because I won't be able to afford the tranny upgrade right away after the conversion. Thanks for the help fellas!
