04 f250 6.0l black smoke when turbo kicks in. Will not smoke when throttle is given slowly.

 

How about a little more info? Any mods done tho the truck?

 

no mods. just found oil in turbo & duct work.

 

Are you using too much oil? A small amount of oil in the turbo and cooler system is normal. Some of it enters through the crankcase vent and a small amount will leak past the turbo seals. Black smoke is too much fuel or not enough air. Oil would cause blue smoke. You might have a plugged air filter. A seized turbo would also starve it for air and cause black smoke.

 

removed wires from mass air flow sensor. no difference in engine performance. no check eng lite. no codes.

 

check turbo boots what is your boost too much fuel is the cuase of black smoke
