Default Goose neck short bed

I have a 99 Dodge 2500 short bed mainly stock I am going to build my own headache rack install a transfer tank put stacks on her and I would also like to buy a goose neck my question is what is the limits in moving the ball back. is it going to tow different? i would like to move it back 3 to 4 inches and i would like to do a turn over. but i know a B&W are made to go into factory holes. gust drill new holes and fill in old ones?

Look into the extender from B&W. Its a ball that sits back a few inches and goes in the original hole. How big of a tank are you getting? I know with my 105gal tank and my box I have about 6in from the box to the hitch and mines a longbed.

you dont really want to move the ball back at all the load should be right over the axle

i have a 75 gal and i have been looking at a lot of gn setups and like all the B&W are set like 4 inches in front of the axle with it like that there is like 1/2 inch to the tank with trailer on and so i wont beable to turn sharper than 25*

I know what you mean. I stuffed my horse trailer into my toolbox lid up on the mountain today. The box is in the way cause of my tank......and mines a long bed. The extension for the bw goes in the same hole as the regular ball. Its made for shortbeds and bw wouldn't sell it if it wasn't safe. Yes the coupler is moved back but where the weight transfer to the bed is the same cause its in the same hole as the ball was originally.

By "longbed", do ya mean 8 ft., or the gay crap they're putting on most trucks now? I have at least a coupla FEET between my toolbox and my B&W.
