Default Cleaning Glass

I bought my truck a few months ago and the PO ran some wiper blades that were old and dry. I now have some scratches in the window from the blades. Is there some kind of polish, cleaner or something to help with this? Its not too bad, but when it rains, the water sort of follows the wiper tracks. I put on new blades, used some Rain-X or something like it and it helps, but wanted to know if there is anything short of a new windshield to fix the problem. Thanks.

I believe Meguiers makes a glass polish. Stop @ a windshield shop and they can tell you what best stuff is and if the winshield can be salvaged.

I agree. You would likely need a polish meant for glass. I polish and wax my side windows occasionally. But not to remove scratches. Just to make them easier to clean.

i used to work as a detailer cleaning bently's and ferrari's and porsches and alot of other high dollar cars. simple things like normal canuba wax can be used to remove minor scratches in the glass. you can also use vinegar to remove hardwater stains as well.

You can polish some glass like windshields, but not the tempered in the rest of the windows. I don't know whats a good brand of polish to through.

I used this stuff on my windshield once it was pitted from years of wear, and I'm too cheap to get the windshield replaced. Worked good, but took forever to do it seemed like.

I know I’m a bit late.

If you get some 000# steel wool and a new bottle of blue glass cleaner it will take out all the light stuff on all your windows. I found that polish and wax dose not last long.
