Default 2000 7.3L. excursion vs. 98' 12v cummins

I'm just wondering. I own a 98' 12v dodge cummins, and my dad owns a 2000 ford excursion with the 7.3L. powerstroke in it. Instead of actually hooking up the two, which diesel would win in a tug-a-war? Both stock engines, by the way

excursion has more weight so it has the advantage there, you also don't say anywhere if it's a long box or short and the tires make a difference also, though if the cummins is an auto i'm gonna say the excursion would "win" and if the cummins is a stick the cummins should win if you know how to drive, there's to many things that affect the outcome of a tug of war so I'll be as honest as I can be and say I don't know who would win for sure

Also doesn't say if either are 4x4 since that can be interesting with the front wheels smokin' too.

If they are OEM stock as indicated I think the Ford has it.

the ford, the excursion wighs like what? 9900 gvw? plus the ford tranny is alot stronger than the dodge automatics. the cummins may have a lower powerband but if you can get the turbo to spool up on the ford than your not gonna stop it.

Thats an easy answer
The Ford would. After all we know whats FORD means Fast On Race Day or First On Race Day , but all jokes aside I would love to know the answer when and if you do find out, being that I own a 99 F-350 with a 7.3 and an 05 F-250 with a 6.0, but I do love the looks and power of a dodge and you just cant beet there sound where there stacked, you hear them cumming form down the road

That is a tough call. I know those Excursions are very heavy vehicles. I use to have one and I think it weighed as much as my truck and my truck sits at 8200lbs on the scale. Like said above a lot of other factors can come into play on this (Tires 2wd 4wd auto manual)

Ah hell, just hook'em up and let us know

I guess I'm curious if you want to know which ones a better pulling motor or literally you just want to know which one would pull the other? pulling has less to do with motor more tires, suspension, driver and friction there are guys running 460 BB's winning pulling competitions with diesels that are pushing over 1,000 ft lbs of torque doesn't mean it's a better towing truck ya know? Guess i'm curious if that's what your asking or which motor is better overall (which is more my ?)

I guess I just want to know which motor is better overall. And it would be interesting to see which one pulls better.
