Default question about subwoofers and amp

i have 2 12v in subs in my boat that im not using anymore. do they make a amp that can be plugged into a 110v outlet in your house that hooks up to the subs for a car?

yes and no, i have one for a cooler that can be plugged into a wall or a car outlet. That draws big amps, it could probably be used for a car amp that you could hook up to it.
OR
you can probably go to tweeter and have them hook you up with something.

do they make any sort of like a power converter that switches 110-12v rather than a normal 12-110 converter. it would be nice to take my subs and amp out of my dodge since i never use them and hook them up in my home theater surround sound system

They should still make those. I have one from a radio we had at our house before they put phone lines in. I'm not sure what the specs are on it or anything but I kept it around because it's handy for testing anything off a car.

Try that, don't know how big you would want though?

You can pick up a 12v converter from Radioshack, however they usually dont have enough power to run Amp and sub. I had a similar set up and the Amp would throw protection easy.

What about selling the amp and subs and taking the cash and put it towards a sub made for the application? Just a thought. I thought about the same thing a few yrs back but didn't do it.
