Default Fun enjoyable car

the passat is pissing me off with all is problems so what is a mercedes diesel say from the 80's to the 90's that has good power, that i can bomb, and doesnt have a ton of problems. i saw a 95 with 200k that was nice and had a strait six. also saw some nice early 80's with turbos. so what should i get. thanks for the replys

my mom had an 80's E or C-class turbo diesel WAY back in the day. She absolutely loved it. The thing was unstopable! Anything from the '80s will last you a goodwhile. Mercedes made GREAT cars back then. Stay away from anything '94+. IMO the quality started to take a steep dive from then on.

anyone know the difference of the engines. best engine for power, best engine for reliablity, best engine for mpg.

That depends. I can tell you that they still build great diesel motors. The cars can be a little more tricky with the bad marriage between them and Chrysler but now that's over and the quality has come right back.

I've got the 3.0L V6 VVT diesel and its great. Its got the DPF on it but not the adblue.
