Default cheap, or free mods

my brother just bought a 2005 dodge cummins with an auto trans....we are trying to do some budget mods to the truck, so far we custom made an air intake and removed the silencer ring. is there any thing else we can do for real cheap to add a lil power until he can afford the big mods? any advice is much appreciated!!

There's a Crank sensor mod that adds some timing improvement but power wont really increase. Please keep in mind if he dosent have the money to buy mods for the truck, then he wont have the money to keep it up after adding mods.

Can do the tone ring mod. It advances the timing and it's suppose to add 1-2 to mileage.

the seat mod... I HATE my seats... they suck.. Going to either a craft store or hobby shop tomorrow to get some foam....

Gut the intake tube... Has that little cross hatching in it for the silencing...

The Silencer ring mod doesnt give anything besides sound, i heard someone say that it actually hurts you by taking it out cause it creates turbulance....

The one that helped me the most was cutting my cat off.... That gained me about 3-4 mpg
