Black smoke no power

Black smoke no power
Okay first off I'm new to the site and not much experience turning wrenches. Due to my current situation I need to keep this truck running for a couple more years and need to do the work myself to keep cost down. I've got a 94 3/4 ton 4x4 w/6.5 l TD @ 153K miles. I only drive it in the winter months the past few years so don't really want to replace it.
To the nuts and bolts of it. Trouble first started going up a small hill, punched it and it accelerated then it was like the turbo quit, 3500 rpms but slowing and got the check engine light. After that anytime I got to 65 I'd get the light. Next came the black smoke about a week later. Also leading up to this the lift pump would run sometimes for about 30 seconds after shutting off engine. The CDR valve is also dripping like an oil filter! One last thing. When driving the engine will make a rapid ticking sound that lasts for a few seconds at the same time blowing black smoke no matter the rpm range. Is that a diesel missfiring?
I replaced all the vacum lines (2 were found under the turbo cover broken) and that seems to have keep the check engine light from coming back on. Replaced the fuel filter on top of the engine. Found a cool trick online for bleeding the lines by removing the pump fuse assy and touching the back of the fuse to an assy post on the firewall that worked like a charm! This all happened in the middle of hunting season so the truck sat since last Jan and batteries died clearing all codes.
Well yesterday I cleaned the CDR valve and charged the batteries, It started right up this morning. I took it down some back roads and to no suprise black smoke, no power, and missfiring. What do I check next and how? Injecters, lift pump, fuel returns???
I hope I gave you enough info for some educated guessed to help me fix this.
I really need this truck running in the next couple weeks. Early waterfowl season starts 1 Sept here in Ohio!

well i can tell you there is only one hose connecting the turbo to the intake manifold and its right on top of the engine so if its still there it isnt that. cdr valve probably needs to be replaced. run to napa or a parts store to get a new one. ticking sound could be injectors but if your getting black smoke it is turbo related.
check to make sure your wastegate actually does work. also i see you replaced your vacuum lines but did you replace your vacumm pump. this forty dollar pump can break and make the entire ruck lose power and feel like the turbo is crap but once replaced the truck will run fine so i would check to see if its working.
if you got black smoke the lift pump is doing its job in providing fuel to ijection pump. also if any codes come back find out what they are and tell us so we can get some more clues
