Derby last night, was a muddy sucker after raining all afternoon but they scraped the arena and it actually turned into a real hard hitting derby. This was this kids third derby, in a car he ran once before in a chain up derby. This one was a limited weld class, but was very limited to what you could do to the car. 70's Lincoln Continental with a big block Ford. Broke the neck off the radiator in the second heat, and we could only get the spare radiator in sideways, hence the sticking out the top.

Oh yeah, 4th place, and $575 winnings.

I told him to make sure he had his goggles on the whole time in case it blew. Crazy kid was making full track hits with the front end in the final! That is one tough old car for sure, I have new respect for the continental after seeing the damage he was doing with the front end.
