What doesn it mean if there is coolant in the oil?

Default What doesn it mean if there is coolant in the oil?

i am looking at a older powerstroke for $1000, but he sais it has coolant in the oil (now how he knows that i dont know). What is happening, and is it fixable? I should have more details tomoro.

most likely a head gasket if i had to guess. good luck with it man

the way he could spot it is the oil is probably brown or milky looking

Yep. Head gaskets, cracked heads, or a cracked block. Be looking at $1000 to have it fixed, but it's hard to say how long it's been ran like that. Possible lower end damage.

This is a best case scenario price. Could end up bein much more.
