Smarty for the 5.9
I want to get a smarty for my truck. I have a few questions to ask. First of all can you run a smarty on a lower setting without gauges? Is it possible or should I get the gauges first? the next question is, should I get a clutch before I get a smarty to avoid problems or will the torque controller in the smarty prevent transmission damage? What upgrades would I need to do to my truck to avoid ruining anything with the smarty power (especially on the higher settings of the smarty) and finally what smarty should I run the Senior PoD, the TnT, or maybe one of the others. I would eventually stack chips I think for more HP. All help is greatly appreciated!

alright i would go and buy gauges 1st, look at glow shift guages only $200 buck for a package deal (egt, tranny, and boost). yes u can run on a lower setting without guages but whats the point running a programmer on low. no u dont need to get a clutch until its starts sliping or blows (like mine did!) the only upgrade u need to do is get a tranny, nothing else really. just later on get injectors, turbo, ad150/fass150, and cp3 pump. and the POD is kinda gay and a waste of $. just go and get the TNT. call bob wagner at (253) 735 6281, or check out www.wagnerandassociates.biz

I actually need a clutch. Im thinking about the Southbend 550 because if I slip it or roast it they upgrade it for free. Thanks for the link. I think im going to have to run 5 gauges in the end though. I already will have the CP3 because I need to replace my broken one now and I already got a FASS 150 so Im half way there almost. Is the TNT Better than the REVO?

i have the smarty sr. and with it on sw3 it will slip the clutch a little in 5th gear. i put it on sw5 once and it wouldn't hold full throttle in 3rd, 4th, or 5th. So you def need a clutch upgrade. I am saving up for mine now. so i just leave it on three and ***** foot around. i cant wait to use a higher setting.
